We’re looking for Trustees: could it be YOU?

The Connor Saunders Foundation was set up after Connor was tragically killed by just one punch at 19.

Connor was charming, kind and caring – he worked hard, radiated happiness and was the first to help others his whole life (becoming an organ donor at 16) – he believed that life was what you made it.

In Connor’s name and memory, the Saunders family set up the Foundation determined to honour his life and maintain his capacity to love and care for those around him.

His legacy and the programmes set up in his name promotes peace throughout Sussex, encouraging all to use their hands to help, rather than hurt.  This is done through talks, through anti-violence workshops, first aid training and defibrillator packages to schools, clubs and communities.  To date, these programmes have been successfully rolled out across nearly 100 sites in schools and clubs throughout Sussex, reaching just over 7,000 students to date and benefitting groups, clubs and communities too.

The Connor Saunders Foundation operates as a charitable company.  The day to day management of the organisation is shouldered by our Founder, Darran Saunders and the CEO, Courtney Saunders-Jones. Their work and vision is support by the Board of Trustees, a few who have recently stood down and we are now seeking to replace that capacity.

The Board is looking for candidates with a strong track record of achievement in their chosen field and we would welcome valuable expertise with fundraising, HR, finance, school governor and experience with Foundations and Trusts.

Candidates wishing to apply are asked to supply the following:

  • A supporting statement, explaining how you believe your skills and expertise match the requirements needed
  • A comprehensive CV including details of your achievements in each role
  • Details of two referees, who will not of course be contacted without your prior knowledge or consent.

The closing date for applications is 20 August, when shortlisting will take place. Interviews are scheduled for mid September in Brighton, Sussex.  Please send your interest to adelle@connors5.com, along with the information above.

Our website gives you a good introduction to the Connor Saunders Foundation and to the skills we are looking for, in further the objectives of our organisation.

We need like-minded individuals to allow our programmes to be amplified, strengthened and evolve – to be heard across the whole of the UK in the spirit, character and charm of the beacon whose light never dims – Connor.

With kind regards
Courtney Saunders-Jones BEM
